More effective operations in Kalajoki

Port of Kalajoki Ltd has acquired a new Gottwald port crane, significantly enhancing the port’s lifting capacity and competitiveness. Purchased second-hand from SSAB’s Raahe port, the crane has been extensively updated, including a modernization of its electrical system, allowing it to operate entirely on electric power.

The new crane enables more efficient handling of various cargo types and vessels. Tytti Toikkanen, Area Manager at Blomberg Stevedoring, highlights that the crane’s reach, lifting capacity, and equipment allow for more effective operations. It is expected to be operational within the next few weeks. This is a great investment from Port of Kalajoki.
